Einige neue Kissen in meinem Shop! Groß und kuschelig!

Some new pillows in my shop! Big and soft!

Sehr chillig wars! So kann man wohl den ersten Prinzessinnengärten-Flohmarkt zusammenfassen. Unter und zwischen viel Grün hatten Melanie von 1 Einzelstück und ich unseren Stand. Brennesseljauchenduft umwehte uns zwar ein bißchen, aber es kamen doch viele BesucherInnen gucken. Es gab viel positives Feedback („Ach wie schön!“) und viele Interessensbekundungen, aber, wie auch auf vielen anderen Berliner Märkten, eher Schnäppchensuche und wenig Kaufkraft! Also heißt das Motto weitermachen und viel viel viel mehr Werbung machen. Hier noch ein paar Impressionen …

An easy Sunday! In such a way you could recap the first flea market in the Prinzessinnengärten. Our sales table – that means mine and that of my friend Melanie from 1 Einzelstück – was situated between and under a lot of green. Although it was a very hot day some people stopped by and took a look at my products. I got a lot of positive feedback („Oh how beautiful“) and talked with some to-be customers. Not so much purchasing power but all in all a nice market. Here are some impressions:

Am kommenden Sonntag – also morgen! – habe ich zusammen mit einer Freundin einen kleinen Verkaufsstand beim Kreuzboerg Flowmarkt! Die Location ist cool: in den Prinzessinnengärten gleich beim Moritzplatz im Herzen Kreuzbergs. Also kommt vorbei!

Tomorrow I will have a small sales booth at the „Kreuzboerg Flowmarkt“! The market location is pretty cool: it is in the Prinzessinnengärten – a large urban garden – next to the Moritzplatz in the heart of Kreuzberg. So if you are in Berlin come over!

Die NY Times berichtet gestern – etwas unerwartet – über eine alte Handwerkstechnik – das wood block carving auf Stoffen – in Indien („Indian Print Artisans at Work„) und über ein Museum in Jaipur, das von Anokhi, einem der Hersteller solcher Stoffe – auf dem Subkontinent betrieben wird: The Anokhi Museum of Hand Printing. Ich würde dort natürlich gerne hinfahren, denn es gibt auch Workshops zu „print making and block carving“! Übrigens sind auf diese Weise hergestellte Stoffe oftmals in bis zu 500 Arbeitsschritten bedruckt.

The NY Times published yesterday – somehow unexpectedly – an interesting article about the old craft technique of wood block carving in India („Indian Print Artisans at Work„) and about Anokhi, one of the leading producers of such hand-printed fabrics. Also an interesting travel spot is mentioned: „The Anokhi Museum of Hand Printing„. In the museum they even offer „print making and block carving workshops“ – so what about a journey to Jaipur? By the way, fabrics printed in that manner often have to pass 500 work steps.

Ahhh! Endlich sind die ersten Stoffe fertig gedruckt. Ich freue mich so, denn sie sind wirklich sehr schön geworden. Einige gibt es schon im Shop!
